PCS J 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Punjab Civil Sevices Judiciary Branch, one needs to fulfill these below-mentioned criteria.

Age:

Individuals who fall under the age group of 35-45 are only eligible for this examination. However, age relaxation up to 5 years is provided to SC and BC category people who are also a citizen of Punjab.

Educational Qualification:

Lawyers, meaning one who has an LLB or an LLM degree with 7 years of practice experience are eligible to appear for this examination. Remember, anyone who has less than 7 years of experince will not considered eligible.

Nationality:

The candidate must be an Indian and provide proof for the same.

Attempts:

Candidates can appear for six times. However, for ex-servicemen the number of attempts is just 3.

Punjab Civil Service Judiciary 2024 Application Process

Registration

To register for the examination, candidates are required to visit the official site https://www.ppsc.gov.in/. After that, you can easily find the respective links in the important links tab. 


After that, candidates need to sign up for which they need to provide certain details like email, phone number, aadhar number, etc. 

Application Submission

After one completes the registration process, he/she can start filling up the application form with all the required details.


Note: One also needs to upload certain documents like mark sheets or practice experience, signature copies, photographs, etc.

Fee Payment

After that, candidates may proceed to pay the application fees and once they are done, the application process will be considered complete.

Admit Card Download

PCS J admit card will be available on the official site or at https://highcourtchd.gov.in/. Therefore, one needs to keep an eye on both the sites.

PCS J 2024 Exam Pattern

As stated previously PCS J exam happens in two rounds. The first round is a written exam and the second one is the viva voice. The written exam consists of 750 marks while the viva voice holds 250 marks.

Written Exam Pattern:

Number of Papers: 5

Name of Papers:  3 Subjective Papers, English & Punjabi, General Knowledge

Total Marks: 750

Marks Divison: Subjective Papers ( 200 Marks), English & Punjabi (100 Marks), General Knowledge (50 marks)

Time for Each Paper: Subjective Papers (3 hours), English & Punjabi (3 hours), General Knowledge (2 hours)

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Viva Voice Exam Pattern:

Questions regarding constitution, personality, etc will be asked.

PCS J 2024 Application Fee

General and OBC candidates must pay 1000 rupees while SC, BC category students can pay 500 rupees.
