ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Any graduate holding a degree in any discipline from any recognized university approved by the Government of India is allowed to take IBPS SO exam.

Nationality: 

  1. Should be a citizen of India
  2. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan
  3. Tibetan Refugee who arrived prior to 1 January 1962
  4. A person of Indian origin migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma(Myanmar), Vietnam or East African countries of the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire or Ethiopia to permanently settle in India.

EXAM SYLLABUS

ENGLISH 

 Cloze test, reading comprehension, spotting errors,

sentence improvement, sentence correction,

para jumbles, fill in the blanks,

paragraph/sentence completion.

REASONING ABILITY 

Seating arrangements, puzzles, inequalities,

syllogism, input-output, data sufficiency, blood relations,

order and ranking, alphanumeric series,

distance and direction, verbal reasoning,

and non-verbal reasoning.

GENERAL AWARENESS

Current affairs, banking awareness, general knowledge,

currencies, important places, books and authors, award,

headquarters, prime ministers,

important schemes, and important days.

QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE

Number series, data interpretation,

simplification/approximation. quadratic equation,

data sufficiency, mensuration, average, profit and loss,

ratio and proportion, work, time and energy,

time and distance, relations, probability, simple interest,

compound interest, and permutation and combination.

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE


  • IT OFFICER (SCALE-I): Database management system, data communication and networking, operating system, software engineering, data structure, computer organization and architecture, microprocessor, and object-oriented programming.
  • AGRICULTURE FIELD OFFICER (SCALE-I): Basics of crop production, horticulture, seed science, agronomy and irrigation, agricultural economies and practices, soil resources, animal husbandry, ecology, and government schemes.
  • MARKETING OFFICER (SCALE-I): Basics of marketing management, brand management, advertising, PR, sales, retail, business ethics, market segmentation, market research and forecasting demand, product life cycle, corporate social responsibility, service marketing, and marketing strategies.
  • LAW OFFICER (SCALE-I): Banking regulations, compliance, and legal aspects, relevant law and orders related to negotiable instruments, securities, foreign exchange, prevention of money laundering, consumer protection act, SARFAES, banking ombudsman scheme, laws and actions with direct link to banking sector, bankers book evidence act, and DRT act.
  • HR/PERSONNEL OFFICER (SCALE-I): Human resource development, business policy, and strategic analysis, transnational analysis, training and development, recruitment and selection, reward and recognition, industrial relations, business policy and strategic analysis, grievance and conflict management, and performance management and appraisal.
